This event is for Compassionate Memory Care staff and family members of residents. Terry Glover, a volunteer speaker with the AA, will discuss ways to communicate with dementia patients. Terry says, “When a person has Alzheimer’s and their brain changes as the disease progresses, they lose the ability to speak and decode language in the usual ways.”
Terry’s presentation will help dementia caregivers learn and decode verbal and behavioral messages from people with dementia. The information will also assist caregivers and loved ones in adjusting their way of communicating while maintaining a connection with those they support.
Compassionate Care Hospice staff will share information about the hospice philosophy of care and how hospice started.
It’s Kindness Week so it’s the perfect time to facilitate the Kindness Rock Project!
